This must have been before Cris was shot in the stomach after fighting a USPS guard.

You'd be correct, that altercation happened some two decades later, in the early 2000s...which will also soon qualify for "old school," apparently. 😬

Very true. Isn't that Curt Kirkwood and drummer Derrick Bostrom in the pic too? I saw them in the mid-1980s at a small bar in Denver. They played on a small 20'X20' riser in the corner. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Yes, it's all three original Meat Puppets; I just felt like spreading Cris appreciation today.

That sounds like an amazing show; they must have been quite the force to be reckoned with in the 80s, especially in a small venue!

What is he doing to that Bananana?

That's the million-dollar question. Chances are this mystery has been lost to time and mind-altering substances.

I’ve been listening to the album || lately. Kurt Cobain loved MP I think. He covered two of their songs on unplugged in NY

I love that intro … if I had to lose a minnnd … if I had to touch feeling … the whole album the dude sounds high as the sky on heroin. I read they recordered one of their most popular albums while using really really good MDMA.

  • I’m just now getting into meat puppets I meant to say

And Ofc “backwater” Such a cool song. Gotta love that riff lol
