The ads for the original Point Break were laughable back in the day. My group of friends had no intention of seeing it. Eventually rented it one night on a whim, and we ended up watching it twice back to back.

If you watch some 60s and 70s shows like Mannix, Rockford files, etc, you'll notice that the muscle/enforcer guys look like they have some meat on them, not like roided out gym rats.

Pacing. First time I realized it was watching The Hustler after The Color of Money. I'm by no means an impatient viewer and, my god, the long takes. And of course the current frenetic ADHD editing style makes The Color of Money look sedate.

A rotating satellite will light up then fade out. If you didn't get a good sense of its speed and track, you may not be looking in the right spot to see it re-appear.

I've been there. Read about it in Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World as a kid, then forgot all about it till I was traveling through the region and found myself there. Sadly, you have to be cautious about unexploded ordnance so you can't just go roving around, but it was neat to see the place I had marvelled about in my childhood
