Wouldn’t it be nice if development took into consideration the needs of people and the protection of the environment instead of the needs of commerce and profit making. Certainly under a capitalistic model, commerce and profit link people with jobs that they need to survive (not thrive)- but wouldn’t it be amazing to build a whole new way of living. A whole new way of life and true liberty. Just imagine.

More urban condominium buildings (not just rental complexes) with bike garages, pet stations, underground parking, LEED certification, gyms, etc. Most of the condo buildings in the city are old and outdated. Not everyone wants a house, especially retiring seniors.

Is there any downside to inclusion and diversity statements? Absolutely not.

Are such statements mostly a grand display of virtue signaling? Probably

Will such statements help secure material gains such as affordable housing, rent control, gainful employment for all of whom the statement seeks to include? Nope

In the city: I’ve gone to Hope Cemetery and Institute Park, Airport area.

Just outside the city: Westborough Wildlife Management area, Cranes Swamp, Bolton Flats.

Further out: Mount Auburn Cemetery, Plum Island (my personal favorite)

I don’t care for chain restaurants. Frankly I don’t trust them. And I don’t like their food. However, having said that, though I like to support locally owned restaurants, here in southern Vermont they have become so exorbitantly expensive that I feel I’m being unfairly ripped off. So now I support neither- and have simply learned to be a better cook at home. I’m healthier for it and I save money. Pizza is easy.

Feeling the same. Christmas nostalgia just kills me. I get through it by keeping busy. I read books, practice my guitar, cook something, clean, meditate, study French, exercise. All this keeps me feeling like I have a purpose and a challenge. No looking back, just move forward my friend, just move forward.

Here in southern Vermont we’re inundated by the classless wealthy from the tri-state area (Ct/NY/NJ). They are generally rude, narcissistic, shallow, and refuse to display any manners if graciousness (please, thank you, excuse me). These are the types of ghouls who are bristled at, and rightly so.
