Reply to [OC] Red Notice is the most popular Netflix movie of all time (based on hours watched) by giteam
I watch netflix almost every day. I am so much not the target audience for that movie I don't even remember ever seeing it. Actually I've only seen 2 of these. I'm a sci fi watcher though. If it isn't sci fi or fantasy there is a 5% chance I'm watching it.

I'm half Filipino and half Northern European, but I grew up in Southern California where EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE thinks I'm Mexican. Now although my family has a very White American culture that is only part of who I am. You can't ignore what the world around you thinks you are. This has taken me decades to accept. When people make a B line to me hoping I speak Spanish it's not going to change the fact that it will keep happening. At some point you realize that you don't just represent who you are internally. To my external world I am a White washed Mexican and until I go in depth about how I'm not then that's superficially what I represent in public. So weird as it sounds I understand a good portion of what it's like to be Mexican American in America although it's not part of my genetic identity at all.
I also have a unique perspective of being inside the all White conversations where they don't think there are any Hispanic people around and I can tell you that most Mexican Americans dramatically underestimate the amount of racism that exists inside White families. In a way I envy that naïveté because I hear the racism and then I have to go out and feel the racism from the other side. Also I don't have the hispanic culture and pride to make me feel better about it. This is mainly why I've left Southern California. It sucks to constantly have to represent something you're not, but it's also impossible to ignore.

You don't understand that given the freedom to most people will probably still do things like get educated and have productive hobbies. Even if they don't that's the whole point of life. Aristocrats have had basic income for thousands of years and they are responsible for most of our science. It's only when hands are free to learn and experiment do we achieve. Most people are locked in meaningless labor while their brains atrophy. Maybe you're an ambitionless drug addict at heart, but a lot of people aren't and it only takes a small minority of highly talented people to keep the systems running and support people like you who have no self motivation. Just because you cannot understand what to do with freedom don't assume you understand all the people forced to work when they have so much potential in them.

To understand why such a large portion of the planet doesn't care about destroying Earth you need to understand a few factors.
- Certain religions say God will always provide for people so it doesn't matter what they do.
- Some people are just so selfish they don't mind burning everything on the way out. This works well with the first factor.
- Most people are so poor and desperate they are just trying to survive and so don't have the luxury to help.
- Some people want to keep the desperate people desperate for their own selfish needs.
So if you find a very rich religious person who uses poor people and does't care about the problems of the next generation then you have essentially found your culprit.

I was looking for purple as well. Does it matter if you are the one doing or being penetrated? Maybe they should be different colors? Purple and dark purple?
