Kinda sad cars are necessary in the majority of NA :(( but in my neck of the woods food, clothes, utilities, tickets, newspapers, landlines, mailing, personal+ professional services, agriculture crap and equipment for manufacturers (among other things that don't apply to ordinary people) are exempt from sales tax.
