Looking through his post history, he posted a “leaving NJ was the best decision” post 209 days ago where one comment he made stated “we had to live in Montclair so my in-laws could help with the baby.” 170 days ago he posts on relationships that he hasn’t met his wife’s parents. I know in-laws aren’t always parents but that seems suspicious. Timelines are confusing too - 2 years ago he posts that he’s 30M but last year he posts elsewhere that he’s 35M. I’m not an expert but I don’t think you can age 5 years in 2 years timespan. All this internet sleuthing to say I think he’s a liar trying to rile people up and he can’t keep his story straight.

There are also homes under $600k in North Jersey. To imply everyone in NJ is rich is honestly one of the most delusional, stupid things I’ve ever heard. But policing has been systematically designed over decades to appeal to a certain kind of person. Almost every officer who does try to change anything from within or even hold other police accountable is chased from the job. It would take a massive influx of like-minded people to join the police AND the police unions (who have insane power and influence.) Even if a bunch of reformers tried to join, how many of those representing the status quo would do the same? How many current lifers would just stay? When the police realize they’re being “infiltrated” by reformers, do you think they’ll just let it happen? I’m not saying protesting will fix things either but reducing it to “if you want change, just join a broken system” doesn’t seem like a viable option either. Honestly, I don’t even know what would fix policing at this point. When rot spoils the bunch, you don’t add good apples in hopes of removing the spoil; you have to start the barrel from scratch.

They have a place in the party as probably single issue voters who would rather vote for any Republican, no matter how shitty, than even a centrist Democrat if it means getting their way. Think the “lower taxes” crowd. They aren’t MAGA but they aren’t in danger of flipping either so they’re an easy win. I think the GOP would rather rile up their base than extend olive branches to moderates within their own party, knowing that the moderates are lifers as long as they stick to the Reagan-era playbook. They may not like Trump and his ilk but they aren’t afraid to vote for them when the time comes.
