I really don’t think it matters for most devs. Most of my coworkers are using M1 machines and I haven’t heard of any issues from them.

I’m in the same boat as you btw. Doing software development on an Intel MBP. Right now my skills are the bottleneck, not the machine. Maybe that will change in the future.

I mean unless your current machine is costing you time on the job (aka money) than there’s no need to upgrade.
