For what you’re looking for, Fox point is the answer. I loved there 2 years and I’m moving back in a couple of days. Amazing cafes, lowkey area, extremely walkable (tons of shops, India point park), very safe.

I have some friends who rent out of apartment building in Pawtucket with a pit bull. I’d look into those rather than multi family home options
