This right here...I worked at a vet for 5 years thinking I wanted to be a vet tech...I realized real quick it's not for everyone. I worked the front desk for a while and yea being the person taking payment from sobbing broken people putting their pets down was so heart breaking and hard bit also people truly are at their worst when it comes to their pets. Also some of the things I saw while working there...I will never forget and it's been 10 years. I remember being underpaid, overworked and just emotionally exhaused on a daily basis...the saddest part is when you're so burnt out you start to lose your empathy for people and their sick pets because they waited until 5 minutes before close to bring in an animal that has been vomitiing and not eating for weeks and then you just feel like a monster for literally just being pissed at this person for ensuring you work another 60 hour week because you are staying late...again...
