Yep, straight thru to the other tunnel. I walked through the inbound tunnel in 1992 (from Forest Hills to Oakland, which sucked) and tried the door, hoping there was an access tunnel between the two. There isn't.

Also, the ledge you have to walk on is maybe 28" wide, so you have to do a lot of wall-hugging to avoid trucks and such; stepping through to the other tunnel puts you in the same dicey situation, especially when the cars hurtling Eastbound don't know or expect a person to pop out.

More than once, I've emailed Trader Joe's and recommended the vacant Community Market in the next plaza over on Freeport. No response. The rumor I heard is that Giant Eagle bought the space for the express purpose of keeping competition out, which wouldn't surprise me much.

For a while, Fresh Market was planning to open a branch there. It's a Whole Foods-type organic food market; the existing local store is by the Galleria in Mt. Lebanon. They eventually backed out.

A Trader Joe's on that side of the river would be fantastic. More likely, they'd plunk another Aldi in there, but it's just been sitting there empty for years now.

Not just the books... IIRC, the guy was also razoring individual pages out of ancient or medieval texts and selling them off piecemeal.

I used to wait on Priore now and then at a local store. He struck me as a slimeball even before this hit the news.
