Not a lot of people understand what aspects of our intelligence AI actually shares. It’s not our cognitive abstract thought, and that’s a long long way off.

Imagine you’re driving and a gust of wind comes and blows you to the side. Your hands immediately react to correct the course without you having to think about what’s happened. Your brain has structured pathways between your sensory input and your corrective action. AI is just building those types of response structures for anything it does.

So far the most destructive things I’ve seen from AI are things where there probably isn’t any AI at all but rather people hiding behind the black box to cover illegal behavior. The company that sets rent prices for their clients using AI is almost certainly bullshit and just trying to pretend their collusion ring is AI to avoid lawsuits.
