Lol went to private school out there when I was a kid. But I'm from right on the CT border. Honestly before I moved into the city Wonderland was where I got most of my comics.

That's E would certainly help you get the stuff and maybe find a place to play. No idea if they run games there. Not sure if they have a space for it in the side room where they host MTG.

Another option, admittedly a little out of the way, is Wonderland Comics in Putnam CT which used to run beginner Warhammer nights. I do not know if they still do, I don't have Facebook and that was where they did most of their advertising, so you may have to check there or call.

I used to be an aquatics pro and one of the first things the guy who did my certification talked about was just how annoying it is to keep hot tubs clean because they require constant upkeep. Suffice it to say that even a lot of expensive hotels don't keep their hot tubs clean enough for my comfort.

Apologies for this being a Fox Milwaukee article, I had a hard time dredging up a local one from the relevant time even though I know it was covered.

Several years back this happened and people were uh...understandably pissed. Turns out Nature's Classroom had been doing this all over the place and recently it's started to go viral on Tiktok so it's getting brought up again.

O'Connor's will. Only things to note would be a) they're busy at the best of times so they're probably gonna be mobbed on Saturday. I'd maybe try to make a reservation if you're looking to go.

B) they're not open on Sundays normally. They occasionally do Sunday service for stuff like Mother's Day where it's always on a Sunday and you can count on people coming out, so maybe they'll do one for St Patrick's Day weekend, but I didn't see any listed. (Easily could have just missed it.)

There's also a retro game store that opened up in Shrewsbury called Lady Mo's Attic Treasures. Looks like they have some consoles and might have better luck getting stuff there than That's E where a lot of times the popular stuff sells real quick.

Retro gaming as a whole is too expensive for me now, but it could be a decent option.

It's hard to answer broad "is X area safe" in Worcester cause it often varies street to street, but overall I'd say Vernon Hill is mostly pretty okay. It's loud, parking sucks if you don't have a driveway spot, and boy does it get windy...but I don't think I'd say it's 'unsafe.'

I grew up there. Lived there for 25 years. It's not the worst place in the world to live if you just want a place to live your life. But it's not a place I'd ever choose to move back to.

It's not as bad as its reputation would have you believe, but there's literally no compelling reason to move there other than "it's cheap" and it's cheap for a reason.

God. I feel you.

The other night NatGrid was doing roadwork up near me and they had those cones set up so traffic was still in two lanes. The guy in front of me went up the wrong side. I clocked that, realized 'Oh, I need to go up the other one,' and did....

Of course that didn't stop the National Grid dude from screaming "WHAT ARE YOU A FUCKING R****D!" directly at me.

Like why? What's the thought process here? You were pissed that someone else went up the wrong side so you decided to fucking scream at the next person? Bet you're a normal well adjusted dude.

I feel like all this shit got worse post pandemic. It's like no one knowing how to behave at a movie theater but on a grand scale.

It's very weird how defensive people on this sub get about the city's dogshit trash pickup. I've never spoken to a single person in my day-to-day life who actually thinks it's good. But every time you criticize it on here there's people crawling out of the woodwork to act like it's the best service anyone's ever provided.

I complained about how difficult it is to throw away big carboard boxes when the residential drop-off was closed once and everyone's response was, "You need to break it down!" (I do) and "If it's too big you're supposed to break it down and put it under the recycling bin!" (I've literally watched them pickup the bin, empty it, and leave the folded cardboard on the ground. Bonus: They hucked the recycling bin after doing so.)

This is all to say that yeah, trash pickup here sucks.
