They’ve been fucking up the streets in that immediate area for close to a year now. Poplar is a mess - cars are swerving left and right to avoid holes, and if you’re a cyclist, staying on the edge of the road is downright dangerous since it’s so messed up.
The sidewalks are messed up too, with the decent sidewalk concrete being replaced by ugly road material.
On top of that, when they do do street construction, they’ve stopped putting up “No Parking - construction from X date to X date” signs. So your car will randomly get courtesy towed now. Not a big deal - unless you get improperly towed from let’s say, having an all wheel drive car.
So they fuck up the streets, make you feel even more unsafe as a pedestrian, ruin the sidewalks, fuck up your car from random tows (which you’ll have no chance of fighting and winning against the tow companies), and there’s no clear path to how this is all gonna get fixed.
