Reply to Good credit unions ? by perfectlyniceperson
I work for AGCU and I have relationships with most of the CUs in town, and every one of them is really fantastic, but AGCU is even fantastic-er! But honestly, you really can't go wrong.
And if you do choose to just keep your current Credit Union, most of them are part of the Co-Op and you can walk into any shared branch here in Springfield and use it just like your current CU.

Reply to I'm looking for suggestions for a new, female primary care physician that works with Mercy. I have several health issues that I need to be addressed and diagnosed, so it is imperative that she has enough time to work with me, and doesn't try to rush me out the door. by RenGrey2409
Back when I had Mercy insurance, Dr. Marcia Graham was amazing. I only have nice things to say about her.

If I understand correctly, you desperately in need of help, but you won't accept it from the many, many groups of people you've found who have offered.
Interesting, literally a choosing beggar.

I appreciate the compliment. But I'm not really the best person to choose as a cook.

Never was a thing here. I'm from Philadelphia. A lot of food here is wonderful. I mean I think BBQ is a religion in the midwest. But I miss pizza and cheesesteaks like they did in PA.

Oh, Charley's at the mall isn't bad either. But still not quite it

I'm from Philly, Jersey Mike's is the closest I've found, but not quite it.
Chicago Cheesesteak has spectacular hot dogs, but their cheese steaks are wrong
Penn Station's fries are fantastic, but their cheesesteaks aren't right.
There was a food truck in Battlefield across from subway that is kinda close-ish
The best luck I had was making it myself. Walmart has cheesesteak meat, that works nicely.

City Cafe isn't consistent, but when they are "on" they're pretty good.
Morning Day Cafe in Nixa is fantastic, but not super sensory friendly
I never liked the hollandaise at big biscuit, but everything else is good

I haven't found any great seafood here, it's the downside of living in the Midwest.
Great barbecue, and wonderful Mexican, and fantastic steak houses, but no good seafood.

I loved Morning Day in Nixa. We tried Gaily's, it was over priced, but pretty good, although, we're probably not going back
We usually just go to Village Inn or Jimmy's Egg. I know they are chains, but the quality is consistent and the staff is very good at their job.

Reply to Does this area have as much crime as people say ..? People keep telling me this is crackhead central. by shdwfknbnd
It's not crack so much as crystal meth. And it's a pretty severe problem. And seems to be getting uglier. I moved here 20 years ago from a pretty sketchy part of Philadelphia, so the north side of Springfield isn't super intimidating, there is a lot of poverty and drugs, but mostly genuinely good-hearted people experiencing bad luck.
Those south towns you mentioned are nice. Nixa has fantastic schools, Republic is growing a lot faster than its infrastructure was prepared for, but it's also a great town.
Battlefield is a wonderful tiny town, and Ozark has a lot to offer.
If you can, while most of the north side folks are good neighbors, I'd still choose to live south of Sunshine.
