Yes, “the T” is what people call the subway :) (and occasionally other transit within the MBTA)
According to the link bobby_j_canada posted below, at Eliot station it’s $9 on weekdays now, and $3 on weekends.

It’s not exactly free, but most T stations have small parking lots that charge ~$5 to park all day. And, depending on which one you park at (I used to to do this at Eliot station on the green line a lot), you can often skip paying and no one will ticket you. And if they do, it only costs $1 over the original rate (at least it used to).

Kiki’s in Brighton sells Vegemite. They have a whole English/Irish foods section.

The Arsenal area over by the Commander’s Mansion has some small roads and parking lots. It’s usually pretty quiet over there.

Ah, nice! I lived right by there for many years. You’ll have no problem driving in Brighton, it’s nothing like being downtown. Enjoy the show!

Take your time. There’s a lot of congestion in the city between the cars and pedestrians. Try to stay calm and move at a steady pace. And above all else, don’t stop moving unless you’re truly off the road. As someone else said, if you end up in a wrong lane or miss a turn, just keep moving. It’s not that big a city, and there’s usually a place to turn around soon enough.
What part of the city are you going to?
