Reply to Reading in social situations - unacceptable? by Foo321
I think in social situations it's just as rude to be on your phone as it is to be reading a book. It drove me nuts when I was back home with my family for Christmas and everyone set around the room just staring into their phones while my wife and I just set there like "welp."

I'm with you. It's too jarring to listen to. I've tried them a few times. There was even a book a few years ago that had really incredible cast lineup. I couldn't get into it.

By contrast, I didn't even necessarily like the Dutch House but I liked listening to it just because it was narrated by Tom Hanks.

Yep. I’m a 40 yo dude and while I do still read some non-fiction on occasion, I mostly read as an escape after work or just as fun entertainment on the weekends. So it’s mostly fun fictional novels.

Yeah I guess there are a lot of people that are thinking of baking a cake or making oatmeal in it and letting it sit for days. If you rinse it out after you use it, I don’t see any issues with it.
