I have owned two homes in LR and I would not say CA hates fencing. There are specific guidelines, especially for fences, and the person handling letters of compliance in LR was issuing them incorrectly.

We had a similar issue with some landscape edging that we got a compliance letter for in 2011, but the village found it was not actually in our property file when we went to sell the home 6 years later. We had to reapply for it despite having photos that it was already there when we bought the house.

As for the complaint, the village is not even legally able to provide updates on a complaint to the person who made it in case it ends up going to court. So I'm not sure why they told you they "had to find something" just because someone made a complaint.

I hate that the county uses these steep mountable curbs in residential areas rather than a normal 90 degree curb along the road with a lower-pitched apron for driveways.

Besides scraping cars with lower ride height, it also encourages people parking along the road to drive up the curb and park on the grass between the road and sidewalk.

Luckily our driveway is fairly low pitch, but my next door neighbor's isn't and I hear his car scrape every time he leaves. Maybe I'll recommend this to him.

Some coordination would be nice. Now that the trees are mostly done dropping leaves, every house on my street has done theirs except one. And it's the one next door to me, and now their leaves constantly blow into everyone else's yard.

I mowed before we went out of town last weekend and came back to huge piles of their leaves on the side of our house. They still haven't done them. What irks me is the house is rented. If you don't want to do yard work, rent an apartment.

BGE used to offer a $300 rebate for buying specific smart chargers. That program ran out of funding a few years ago and they replaced it with a program that gives you a $50 gift card each December if you install a participating smart charger, enroll it in their system, and do 90% of your charging for the year during off peak hours. I linked the program details above.

There are separate rebates available from Maryland and the Federal govt for 40% and 30% of the cost to install a charger respectively. Definitely worth researching as they can save you a lot of the cost. I got my charger free with my car but was still able to submit for the state and federal rebates for the cost to pay an electrician to run the service to the garage.

Be sure to keep all invoices and receipts.
