Sure, but maybe a bigger focus on vehicles and a bit more miserable and realistic. Mad Max 2 is the one I would use as reference.

Gritty action movies. They wouldnt make as much money as for example superhero stuff or kids animations, but I would like them.

She cant .
Do you know who is the actor they wanted to play the lead in the film?

I didnt claim otherwise, you missed my point. Jackies energy and charisma more than compensate for his issues with the language. Michelle doesnt have the energy nor charisma, let alone his skills at martial arts and stunt work. She isnt the worst at fight or stunts, but she also isnt anything special either.

I mean what do you expect with their history with racism? They have always been obsessed with peoples skin color and ethnicity. They dont see what they are doing is racist. They truly think flipping the roles on who is suppressed and who is elevated based on their sex or ethnicity isn't still racist.

Havent seen Everything Everywhere All at Once, but everything I have seen her in she has been dreadful. Like she can barely speak English let alone act.
Jackie Chan and Arnie, and mumblers like Stallone and Brando overcame their issues with fluent speaking with a ton of charisma. Michelle doesnt have that charisma.

Reply to How do you decide how much to rate a film? by fosjanwt
How much I liked it, thats it because the ratings are there just for me to keep track of what I watched and what I thought about them then. Usually between 6-10 because lower than that and I wont finish it.
If I was a professional critic I would take into consideration how well the film succeeds at its goal, its technical quality and if the general audience member is going to like it, but I dont need to think about any of that.

At home, usually nothing tbh. If I eat, its usually just a regular meal. But if I go for snacks, its either popcorn or Sisu (Gifu) salmiakki.

And my point was that when you make your product placement subtle, the audience doesnt even notice that it is marketing. You only note the bad product placement.

You are getting hung up on this one film. Let me ask you how do you feel about the cars that Bond drives? Do they feel like commercials?

You cant avoid it though, unless you specifically go through the effort of removing it, which also isnt very natural depending on the situation. Cars have emblems, if you shoot a car from the from the front or behind, it is going to be in your shot.

But what is a car commercial for you? With BP I think a part of that feeling comes from the slow speed they were driving and the boring flat wide shots. At least thats how I saw it, just a poorly made action scene. I didnt see it as oh, they are trying to sell me this car, which they probably were, but thats true for any major movie, you gotta get money to make the film from somewhere.
kasetti t1_ix8su1a wrote
If its natural, I also dont see a problem with it. Our real world is full of marketing, some of which we dont even think of as marketing like for example car emblems. What I find weird is when filmmakers feel the need to remove those emblems from cars.

Even if you go with your friends, you are mostly just going to be silent anyways, just watching the film, which is the whole point.

Actors used to be what sold movies, so it makes sense they would get a big salary for their star power. Nowadays its much less relevant apart from the likes Rock or Cruise.

Sure, but doesnt really pin point more accurately what type of story beat. Jump scare is a bit in that direction, but it also doesnt fit.
