Got it. I’m just playing it by ear and trying to find the sweet spot for my personal preference for comfort and how I supplement my heat pump. I’m also closing curtains and covering a very leaky door. My expectations were clearly lower than yours. Best wishes.

What is your “backup”? It’s a companion heater in very cold weather. My heat pump installer said heat pumps are only efficient within a certain range. They need to pull heat. I have this electric heater: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J1M61M8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It’s efficient and puts heat into the room that the heat pump utilizes/maximizes. I also have a propane fireplace to heat my house when the power fails. What do you have?

Plastic sheeting and duct tape/flex tape? I read that in the event of toxic air you shut off anything in your home with indoor/outdoor air exchange and seal your windows/doors with plastic and tape.

I pasted the response from google on rules for satellites with the reference. My bad for not being clear.
Also, it’s the a confusing statement.

Exactly. They said we would expect to receive contamination between 24 and 48 hours. By Feb 11 that ship has sailed and left behind?? Maybe they can extrapolate the decomposition of the initial dose over time and work backwards to figure it out.

But not within 24 to 48 hours which is when we would have expected to see results from Ohio contamination.

Reply to I get to experience -30 degrees for the first time this coming Saturday. Do I need to be concerned with my well freezing? It’s a standard drilled well with casing and cap. Any advise from my northern friends? Thanks! by MicasNoggin
The ground serves as insulation for your well. However, if you have plumbing on outside walls and lack proper insulation, it’s a good idea to leave your faucets dripping… not running… very slow. Also, even if you aren’t planning to go anywhere, start your vehicle and let it run for 15 minutes or so every day we have this minus whatever temperature. Definitely warm it up before you plan to leave (10 minutes or so is fine). If you have pets, be sure to keep an eye on them outside. Make them do their business and come back quickly. P.s. Always have a good pair of boots, a hat, gloves/mittens in your vehicle, even if you’re not wearing them. 👍 You’ve got this!

I worked with a woman shared this: pan fried bologna on a plate, scoop of mashed potato, ladle of creamed corn over the top. Variation on a shit theme. She said it was a school lunch item when she was growing up (she’s late 30s, early 40s) that she now considers comfort food. We all have our dark secrets.
