Came out to my car once to go somewhere, just for it to be this close on both sides. Just said nope, not today! Luckily wasn't going anywhere important

I report it at least once a day for safety issues. There are regularly used needles strewn all over the stairs and they refuse to have septa police come for aggressive people

Not a phrase usually said by someone who actually knows what they’re talking about

I’m saying the opposite of that, city schools provide a lot of services that suburban don’t. More city school students need help with food and technology, issues that suburban schools don’t typically tackle

It's not that they don't have physical libraries, it's that they don't have the staff to run them

Please tell me how accessible our public libraries are.

Oh, that's right, they aren't. They're open only from like 1-5, M-F at most locations. So while kids have the time after school to go, they don't have parents available to take them

It's not so much that schools don't have a library, it's that they don't have a functional library. They don't have the staff to run it so it stays closed

Suburban schools also don't have to provide as much to their students because they come from better backgrounds, so your point is moot

They view the needed investment in the surrounding area as too high of a cost. Yeah, they could get the land cheaper in North Philly than CC, but then they have higher rates of violent crime to worry about and try to fix.
There's also the fact that whatever neighborhood they put the arena in would be subject to radical changes and gentrification. So the communities that they'd claim to be helping, they'd actually be forcing out

It makes more sense for the sixers to stay at the sports complex than it does to move to the waterfront

It’s one of four buildings open to the community. It’s the student center, the Morgan hall food court, Pearson-mcgonigle hall, and the library. The last two require government-issued ID to enter

The community will never agree with Temple, no matter what the university does.
When the on-campus stadium was still being debated, do you think the community differentiated between the students for vs against it? No, if you’re a student at temple you’re part of the problem for the community regardless of how you feel

For those unaware: reptiles bought at a store shouldn’t have any chance of salmonella. That’s more common in wild-caught animals, which these most likely are
