I'm on the fence. Ch 25 did some 'man on the street' interviews in NY with LIRR riders who were less than impressed, but the could of course choose who to put on air. Fact wise, I'm curious if he 'fixed' the system, or just moved the goalposts.

I think back to David Gunn, who fixed every transit system he touched (and Amtrak) - except Boston, his only failure. Unions and politics prevented him form making any meaningful changes. Curious if the environment now is truly changed.

The CVB story helped, but they exposed a bigger issue that the T hasn't addressed. All of S Station is leased to a company to run, and that company is saving money by doing things like not fixing escalators. Where else are they cutting corners? Why has this not invalidated this lease?

It would have to be a super tall bridge - the water is close to the lower deck of the bridge at high tide, so you would need a bridge tall enough to accommodate the tallest sailboat...

Plus the southern approach just went under 93, so not that much room to build a high bridge from that perspective.

Yeah, wish they would put it in a better location. It kind of gets 'lost' on the common - not very prominent. (And the city doesn't do the best job decoration - it's not surprising the original poster thought the Quincy market tree was the NS tree - it's decorated much better and highly visible)

Good question. No presence anywhere on the web. The charity they run for now, the Play Ball Foundation, has no event for 2022. Technically would happen on Dec 10 if they kept to schedule, but given no fundraising yet, I'm not sure.

It is not a 'gay event' - but given the event, are you surprised a gay travel sight is advertising it as an event? :)

But I have my suspicions. The race is always on a Saturday. Last year it was Dec 11 - and this travel site is listing the date for 2022 as Sunday, Dec 11. So I wonder if they just made an assumption.

Very surprised at this late date there is no proper web site for the 2022 run (if happening)
