I've been using Goodreads the last couple of years. The recommendations it comes up with are terrible, but otherwise it works perfectly well for me. I can rate and review all the books I've read, add books I want to read, create categories and see how many books and pages I've read each month.

Reply to Reading Resolutions: 2022 by AutoModerator
It might sound weird, but my goal for next year is to read fewer books than this year. The reason being, I don't want to switch to a kindle, but I also don't have room for a great deal more physical books. So while this year I've read nearly 30 books, I'm hoping next year maybe I'll read 20.

Reply to Do you find yourself reading more non-fiction books and less fiction as you get older? by disruptivelychill
I'm the opposite. Got back into reading fiction during lockdown after a good 12 years of not reading it and now, aged 30 it makes up 95% of what I read. While I do still enjoy the odd biography/memoir, there is something to be said for reading a book and not having any idea where the story will go.

Reply to ‘Such a joyous moment’: the White Lotus theme becomes a dancefloor hit at clubs and festivals by PetyrDayne
Just started watching The White Lotus last week and while I'm enjoying the show, the theme tune sounds like a dying cat, it's too much for my ears.

I saw it on a giant IMAX screen and didn't get the hype. (Except for the rocks scene. That was good).

Yes and it was very watchable, but not top tier amazing.

Agreed that it isn't the most sophisticated book, but I just found it really fun to read. Plus the second half had a big emotional impact on me and I do find myself thinking about it from time to time.

Usually just one, although I have on occasion read two where one book was too big to take out with me (I like to read in cafes when I can).

I'm going back quite a few years, but I've heard countless times how The Wizard of Oz the film is much better than the book by L Frank Baum.

Reply to The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah - why is nobody talking about this part? by dove127
Granted I read The Nightingale last year, so I may have misremembered things, but I don't remember Vianne thinking the pregnancy was a blessing. In fact I remember her being worried when she realised she was pregnant.
