Network if you can.

Do not trust CL - they keep stealing listings I have for a house for sale and listing it for rent for crazy low. So many scams. I have been thinking of renting house vs selling at this point. Is it really that bad out there?

A good reminder for me to put out tick tubes!

One item I didn't see mentioned here are piles of leaves. They can keep moisture so I have seen ticks from walking through them (or pets that do). Clean it up if in areas you will walk in. No need for garden treatment imo for ticks or otherwise unless you have specific issues to tackle (squash bugs, tomato worms). I do a lot of gardening and don't use anything except on our fruit trees (neem) and find even then I have some fungus issues with the apples I need to sort out. UGH

You will find ticks occasionally on you/kids/pets if you are out in woods or tall grass. No panic, they take a good while to latch in so easy to find and remove once done with your adventure. Treatment for pets is a thing if they are outdoors.

Folks consider Spring often the worse as they are out a lot and can be very small.

With that space you can get chickens perhaps. Too much work for me. Also if you have possum keep em around too.

Portsmouth breweries I can think of:

Cisco (formerly redhook) At Pease (big!)

Downtown:
Portsmouth Brewery (original brewpub, fist in state and one of earliest generally)
Earth Eagle (smaller but has some food. love it.)

Not far from downtown down Islington ST:

(I can't remember which have food options others likely to chime in.)
Liars Bench
Great Rhythm
Loaded Question

I'm sure I am missing some but that is an easy day tour.

If you skip Cisco you can walk em all in an epic trip (2 miles) starting at Loaded Question and heading into downtown. You should have a place to crash downtown cuz gonna get sloppy. I made a map that included a couple of pubs too. Lemme know if interested.

For Italian in Downtown Portsmouth:

Ristorante Massimo - very fancy! you will need reservation well in advance.

Cafe Mediterraneo - Classic nice Italian restaurant - reservation probably good also as weekends are hard in general for walk in for any restaurant downtown.

I was thinking similarly but sadly I think rain will squash any outdoor plans.

Portsmouth will have Ice sculpture carving/setup at approx. 2pm.

Fireworks displays (South Mill Pond) at 7:30pm

I know Portsmouth isn't in your desired location but figured others may see your post and wonder as well. If anyone is near portsmouth they have a contest and a map of folks who signed up for the contest. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1uBBJjCkoMY-MnVQLXkomsagqOLcgOOo&ll=43.07011471234734%2C-70.78188995000001&z=12

Also one of the best known displays in town is doing it for the last year, I have missed some past years and will be bringing kids out this week to catch it. Nice article https://www.seacoastonline.com/story/news/local/2022/12/16/al-bailey-last-christmas-display-in-portsmouth-nh-ocean-road/69728858007/

Call the city asap. Public Works and escalate. Knock on neighbors doors to confirm. It could be that the house line is clogged, or tree blocking up the pipe in yard.

I recommend spending a couple days each in a few spots around the state. Figure out where you want your hub to be. Then you can find areas around it with lots that fit your interest.

Portsmouth is easy one to put on your list, Hollis, etc.

If you don't already have exp with large lots... the more stuff you have more to maintain. I went from no yard to an acre. Love it but lots more weekly work to do.

You didn't mention schools, but also worth factoring in as well as health care.
