I recently had a stupid interaction about a they/them pronoun, I asked the person I was talking something about 'them' and they misinterpreted who I was talking about since we were discussing a professional whose gender was unknown in addition to a coworker (who I did not know used they/them pronouns and was irrelevant to the question I asked). But my coworker got offended at me on the they/them coworkers behalf for no reason.

You know what would solve this? Literally any other pronoun for non-binary people.

I never said I gave more than one.

No.

No.

What are you even talking about?

What in the actual hell does not wanting to answer random questions my coworker asks me that are easily googlable have to do with whining like someone took my toy car? Are you sure you're even responding to the right person? Do you have a repressed memory about a toy car?

There's a difference between someone asking 'hey, what do you think is the tallest building in the world?' and 'what's the tallest building in the world?'

One would be me giving my best guess and one is a query literally directed at Google. I'm not siri, talk to me like a person.

I have a coworker who is like this sometimes and I just say 'I don't care' when they ask me questions for a search engine.

I had a rental car that had a backup cam and it was just unnecessary and gave me an extra thing I needed to check.

I just back up slowly, even if I hit something I won't damage it.

If you back up like a maniac off to the races or can't turn your body slightly for some reason they could be useful but I just had even more anxiety trying to check to the side/back and also the front now.

You think that's a good idea?

You'll only not fuck up people's orders if they pretip?

Good, then you'll get rid of non-tippers and people who tip in cash after verifying their food wasn't fucking destroyed.

But what about the other side of the coin? Drivers who are terrible and fuck up food regardless of the tip.

So the perfect situation in your eyes is everyone should tip, and tip well, before knowing if their food will arrive intact and x% of deliveries will be mangled and the drivers will be rewarded for it.

I wonder what equilibrium this will lead to in terms of percentage of food delivered in good condition when word gets out that you don't have to even do the bare minimum to get awesome pay.

So you don't consider 4% a big enough increase. We get it, we get it.

What would be a big enough increase?

I just think you are trying to justify letting obesity run rampant regardless of costs and using weasel words to prevent an actual discussion about it.

You think 4% isn't a big increase but then say it's not actually increasing costs at all, which is just lies.

So disregarding the fact that you refuse to have an honest discussion, what percentage increase would make you think twice about celebrities endorsing obesity as a healthy lifestyle?

What percentage of the total healthcare spending does a single health issue need to take up before it's a 'big problem' according to you?

50%? (aka no health issue is a problem since none take up 50%)

25%? (aka 1 or 2?)

20? (maybe 3?)

15? (4? 5?)

10? (maybe 6 health issues total?)

Like I'm not sure if you just don't understand percentages or what...

4% is a big percentage, especially for something that's preventable via a person's life choices.

So might as well encourage 'big and beautiful' to get that number up, right?

Edit: there's no arguing with you, but I don't think 4% is 'almost completely irrelevant' when talking about healthcare. Do you know how many health issues there are and how bad it is if ONE health issue takes up 4% of the cost?

Insanity to think it's not a big issue. Don't worry about obesity folks, only worry about cancer and heart disease or whatever, even though they're a lot harder to tackle. Don't worry about obesity and encourage people who promote it.

I had pneumonia when I was younger and my parents took me to the hospital when I couldn't eat breakfast because my throat hurt too much. I don't think anyone 'knows' they have pneumonia because their throat hurts.

Then I had 'walking pneumonia' 4 or 5 years later and stayed home sick. My parents took me to the doctor that night and he said it was pneumonia but I was already recovering on my own.
