I watched my partner, who does recruiting in high tech, do literally nothing but check Slack and still get paid. I was dumbfounded. No software tracking on the work MBP, he was playing Hearthstone and on Twitter being a troll the entire day. As long as he attended meetings (in bed at 11am after having just work up with the sound on loud to hear his name while he drifted back to sleep) he skated by.

Got praised for doing good work. Got handed new projects.

Blows my mind that employees like him earn as much they do while I died making $25 an hour managing a 24/7 vet hospital.

Spicy potato recipe, best when used with small golden or yellow potatoes that turn buttery when roasted: -Chili garlic sauce (like Momofuku, FlybyJings, or Lao Gan Ma) -garlic powder -sesame oil -Braggs aminos (or soy sauce) -white pepper -black pepper

Cube tiny taters. Use generous amounts of seasonings and sauces until all taters are covered. Drop in a baking dish or whatever you want. Roast at 425F for 40, flip them at 20. Outside needs to crisp and puff. When you eat them it should be a nice shell with a buttery inside.

Tencent is one of the few non-govt companies within China. They operate on a very thin line with CCP values; League Of Legends is Tencent. Besides redesigns of skimpier clothed heroines (mainly Cait) and more incredibly masculine men (Sylas, redone Udyr) there has been a removal of western ideology. No mentions of Christmas, etc, like i don’t even think there’s been another Santa since Draven and Gragas.

Like honestly F China for a lot of reasons. A lot. Tencent is kind of the only thing left for the people to enjoy that has some (lol) freedom of oversight.
