Wan is amazing, you can't go wrong with her. The trouble is she books out a month in advance, she's that good. I suggest the combo massage

The only things in that list that make any sense at all are H395, Increase instate energy production. Vermont should lead the way in new energy production, starting with building nuclear power plants. And H445, Place a moratorium on new prisons. We house enough trash in the state already. Let's not build places to bring in any more of it. Send the crooks out of state and build decent housing for our own citizens instead. 4 H444, Long term senior care sounds ok but more info is needed, particularly about how to pay for it

Reply to Republicans in Vermont? by rolloofnormandy50
Scott is a throwback to what Republicans (and Dems too) used to be: people more concerned with doing right by the people they represented than playing political games. He's popular because he uses a rational, common-sense approach to governing and avoids the extremism so prevalent elsewhere. We would all be better off it more of our elected officials would follow suit.

Sadly, you're probably right. The best we can hope for is for a genuine investigative journalist to do a deep dive and bring the facts into the open.

I don't believe Stenger is innocent, but at the same time, neither is Shumlin. That guy just reeked of slimy corruption. I wish someone would look more closely into his activities

All good advice, especially the part about checking on your neighbors. But let's be honest, if you haven't gotten your wood dried out by now...

A shipping container for chickens would be overkill and then some. If you don't want to build a shed yourself, there's a lot of people around who build and will deliver small sheds. What part of the state are you in?

I had a close encounter with a screech owl once - in broad daylight. I was bird hunting in the NEK and ducked under an apple tree's limbs. When I stood up inside I felt something looking at me. I turned around and there was this grey/white screech owl not 6 feet away, eye-level with me, just looking me over. We stood there for a minute or two, checking each other out. Then he turned around on the branch and flew off without a sound. I've been a fan since

Reply to Headache in Vermont by vtluvsbrady
I suffered migraines as a kid and still get them from time to time. Most people think that headaches are neurological in origin but quite often they are vascular. That means that the blood flow isn't going as smoothly as it should. What helped me was light cardio to force the blood to move. Give that a try, it won't hurt

Exactly. IMO, this plus his other idiotic policies make Shumlin the worst governor that Vermont ever had
grnmtnboy0 t1_iy3tt0b wrote
Shutting down Vermont Yankee was a huge loss to Vermont. Yes, the reactor was old but it should have been replaced with something new and safer, not tossed out altogether. This just threw away all the infrastructure already in place to say nothing of the skilled people who operated it. Instead Shumlin and his cronies closed the best power generating plant that Vermont ever had.

I'll vouch for this. the state govt in particular ignores the NEK on a regular basis, but heaven help us if we want to go forward with any sort of development
