Mt. Philo. It’s not in Stowe but it’s an easy drive. The hike to the top is easy and it has a beautiful view of the lake, valley and Adirondacks.

Reply to Republicans in Vermont? by rolloofnormandy50
I think if there’s any modern day republicans in Vermont they’re either very clearly right wing or they use dog whistles and try to pass themselves off as a moderate to hide their meaning and political intentions.
Found an interesting article about this.
A Republican primary for lieutenant governor reveals a broader divide in Vermont GOP
Edit: don’t know why people are downvoting my comment but Vermont definitely has right wing republicans and old school moderate republicans.

I still remember a news story from a couple months ago where a group of people sabotaged a power station and knocked out power to a few thousand people. The story got minimal coverage. Domestic terrorism needs to be taken more seriously.
The original commenter wanted to blame China.

Wtf. Seriously. Just your everyday racism and sinophobia that happens in Vermont. Just blame China for when bad things happen. 😒
Edit: adding some context. The original commenter wanted to blame China.

Waterbury has Thai smile and they have some different dumplings. The food is delicious. There’s also Himalayan D’Lite by Sherpa Foods. I’ve never been to the restaurant but it’s the same company that makes Nepalese dumplings and sells them in the local grocery store in my town.

I used to live in Florida and I still try to keep up with all the sh*t that happens there but jfc the corruption is out of control and they’re not even trying to hide it.
Stopping universities from requiring masks and covid vaccinations. Pushing out a county school board member because they wanted to require masks in schools. Replaced the university of Florida’s president with a desantis lackey. Tried to cover up Covid deaths in nursing homes. Tried to incorrectly report Covid deaths on the state dashboard and went after the whistle blower.

Reply to In anticipation of losing power again this holiday weekend… what is your favorite meal that can be easily cooked on a woodstove? by Vermontess
I like making ramen with vegetables and dumplings. The vegetables can be frozen, sautéed or oven roasted and dumplings can be pan fried or boiled. You can also make this ahead of time and heat it up later in a pot.

Community college in Vermont is just as expensive as the 4 year universities.

There’s not a wide variety of food options here in Vermont and people seem to get pissed when you point it out. Housing is expensive and limited. Check out r/newtovermont

At first glance the photo looks like the vibrancy has been edited and saturation has been increased. This can be done in post processing or in real time using a polarizing filter on the camera. If you zoom in you can see the red leaves look weird and blotchy like the color has been painted in?? Like why ruin a nice image by doing that.

Crazy republicans do live in Vermont.
From this article.
“Tarrant and at least two other candidates said the shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde were engineered by anti-American actors that have infiltrated the media, academia and government institutions, as part of a larger effort to usurp individual freedom and install a totalitarian government.”
“It’s the elites. The elites are orchestrating this — they’re throwing money at people and they’re getting desperate because they’re losing,” Tarrant said. “That’s my firm opinion.”
And yes people did vote for Kathy Tarrant. She lives in Waterbury so it’s not just the NEK or rural areas.
