Character is such an interesting euphemism for older. In 25 years all the newer apartments now will have "character"

Yeah, I don’t have kids.
It’s very interesting to me that the school puts their staff outside of school property to try and mitigate potential conflicts between the kids. Makes sense, but it also puts a lot of pressure on them to chaperone like that.

tbf what is the school supposed to do? It's not an all day daycare for the kids. Where are their parents?

For sure. They're like 70 years younger than the stately rowhomes on East Capitol for instance. Having spent a LOT of time in the latter, they're lovely and have great bones but many are in desperate need of complete renovations.

It's a short walk to the Wharf but certainly not part of the Wharf redevelopment lol. They're expensive because they're gorgeous and huge by DC standards and in between the Mall and the Wharf

My wife and I got married at the dockmaster house on the Wharf and it was fucking beautiful and reasonably priced by DC's ridiculous standards. We had just under 100 people, so ymmv, but it's definitely a venue to check out if you're familiar with and/or like the vibe there

How the bike lane/infrastructure debate has become a proxy battle for race division is some of the craziest, nonsensical shit I've learned living in DC

People post the weirdest things on this website lol. I've lived in DC for 9 years and SW for 7 of them, been all over the city, and love Southwest. It's a beautiful, leafy oasis that's close to many amenities and many of the biggest attractions in the city.
