Okay, The missing ground screw doesn't cause 120 in your common.
broken2302 t1_j6b1vwb wrote
There should not be 120 on the white and black. The romex wire going thru the switch box is black, white & ground. White to white. Black split by switch. Ground to ground. In your light box, Ground wire to the light fixture ground. Black wire to darker brass screw and white to other lighter brass screw.

Insert a phillips head screwdriver slightly larger than the center hole, smack the back of the screwdriver. The center will go into the wall an the outsude will easily pull away from the wall. Spackle the hole.

Yes if you can get to the plug from there. Worth a shot. You'll be limited to a smaller bit. But you are right about head pressure at the clean out.

You probably have a plug where basement enters the main drain to the street but behind your upper house connection. Look for a clean out in the basement to snake or pull the toilet to snake to the main. The head size of the snake makes a difference. You might consider a lower the quality of your toilet paper. Also dont flus "Flushable " wipes or feminine items. My guess on the clear water in the hall is because there is enough clear water in the line ahead of the dirty water.

If your removing the tile it doesn't matter what it is doing or not doing. I would recommend a good solid surface/base under your new tile. Don't do spacing of your new tike like the existing. 1/4" is a good gap. The grout line along your tub base should be caulked with caulking the same color after grouting. Tubs are sometimes flexible at their base which isn't a kind environment for grout. The rust you speak of just might be mineral stain left behind from water getting out of the tub.
