Power Plant may just be what you’re looking for then. Don’t just limit yourself to one place though. You’ll have a bunch to check out once you’re inside.

I think the answer to this question will depend entirely on what kind of night you are trying to have at Powerplant.
35 year old me would consider Powerplant on a Saturday night a shit show. 20 year old “trying to get as trash as possible and get wild” me would probably think it’s awesome though.

If you want to live near Hopkins, Hampden has a huge grocery store called Moms that I walk to from my home every week. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance too.

There are definitely plenty of us keeping the tacky kitsch alive around here without the blatant profiteering and merchandizing that Whiting is all about.

We have a bollard installed near our house too for this exact reason. We’ve still had cars knock stuff off our house and what not. Is there a minimum width an alley needs to be for vehicle travel?

Divine Trash is a documentary that covers mainly the production of John Waters’ Pink Flamingos. Gives a pretty neat glimpse into the underground film scene in Baltimore in the early 70’s.

What exactly is the $1200 covering? We have two cars and a house and are now paying approximately $2000 a year with Allstate.

Yeah I basically stopped going when I was like 21-22, but six or seven years ago there was a free concert we went to and I had to leave briefly after the show after dark and when I went to get back in the bouncer guy wouldn’t let me back in because I didn’t have sleeves? I guess it was on their list of shit they turn people away for at night. Dude literally said something about keeping the place classy. Place was becoming a shit show anyways by that point so we all left. It’s definitely the spot to go if you’re young and want to get blackout drunk, and fight and/or dry hump a random person.

Dunno about coconuts, but if you’re looking for tiki cocktails, Heritage Smokehouse of all places has amazing tiki cocktails. I believe Sugarvale does tiki cocktails too. Not sure if it’s an every night thing. Lucky Buns was kind of scratching that itch too for awhile, but they abruptly closed a little while back. Still hoping someone at some point takes the plunge and goes all in on a real deal tiki bar like Archipelago in DC or Hidden Harbor in Pittsburgh.

Do they still do the tiki nights? We used to go a long while back, but then they stopped. Baltimore really needs a dedicated tiki spot. Archipelago in DC is great but just too damn far.

The Hampden location is just as amazing as anything I had from them before they expanded. Each location tends to have an item or two that the others don’t so it’s never a complete carbon copy.

Ours jumped about 10%. It was valued at 262k, now it’s been reassessed for 288k. We paid 270k. Given how things are right now, I wonder if it would even be worth it to appeal. Yeah, it’s more than what we paid but I also think houses of a similar quality and size to ours are selling for at least 300k, if not more right now.

Yeah but there is also the simple fact that the kids doing this make up a very small portion of kids in this city who come from virtually identical circumstances, the overwhelming majority of which choose not to victimize other people. This is absolutely a choice and they could have gone another way.
