Wow, never thought I would run across someone else who read this. I got it as a gift from my daughter last Christmas, and ended up liking it way more than I anticipated. I liked it on so many levels. The process they used to create the dictionary. Esme's relationship with her father. And how her legacy carried on. Not a dry eye at the end. Beautifully told.

Really depends on your preferences. If you enjoy dramas like this, absolutely. I think it's fantastic, but you will find others that can't stand it. You really need to watch a few episodes to see if it appeals to you. But I would say, season 5 will make no sense without the back story of the previous 4 seasons.

That's a difficult question to answer for someone else. I personally like the Victorian era writing style and specifically enjoy Dickens work, especially David Copperfield. But if you don't like that style of writing then, I would say it may be a challenge for you to get through it.
