Agreed. Though I'd also argue that if you could do that, if you had a base of potential customers worth trillions of dollars over a few years.. well you'd increase production and build that infrastructure... starting years ago, whether there's a euro crisis or not. Why leave trillions of dollars on the table? But Russia largely hasn't done that (yeah I am oversimplifying here, Russia has made such efforts to improve base and supply, but faces physical and political obstacles etc. but I think the main point stands).

Yes. and I am not convinced Russia can simply "find other customers" easily. Germany = 80 some million people and the #4 economy in the world, meaning they have plenty to spend on energy. And it's not just Germany, the entire EU's % of gas imports being from Russia used to be around 50%. Now it's like 18%. You can't just go "find another" EU to shell out many billions for your fuels.

It's a pity this display tech has not significantly advanced in terms of refresh rate. Perhaps it never will, given the nature of the display. I don't mean for like playing videos, but more for the usability of the interface and scrolling pages etc.,

For real. 13mp is a resolution of (or similar to) 3264x2448. Exactly what freakin' purpose do you put your photos to that this is just too small for you? This resolution is completely impractical and overkill for any images looked at on a mobile device or posted to social media or even just for your personal archive for looking at later.

This is to say nothing of the fact that the image quality captured with gigantic sensors of 13, 15 or 20mp can be utterly crap where there is no detail added by those pixels regardless, so you just get huge files with an actual discernible detail level of 8 or 10mp.

This is true. In the pre-civilization past, substantial obesity was almost impossible. This is due to several aspects of modernity, and not just food availability:

- compared to us, ancient humans had to spend a LOT of energy just to survive. You want clothing? tools? food? Shelter? You're making it. You're finding it. You're preparing it. Every day. Or else you don't make it.

- Parasite & pathogen load. A substantial amount of body resources used to go to parasites like helminths, as well as to fighting off infections. In modern, post-industrial societies almost all parasites are simply eradicated. When you do get infections, you get medical care (antibiotics, vaccinations, antivirals, etc) that drastically reduce the strain on the immune system and energetic resources required.

- Obesity, at a certain point, is debilitating. But modern society makes such a life quite manageable. This was far less true in the distant past. No rascal scooters on the savanna. Many groups of humans were nomadic. If you can't walk and run reasonable well for hours at a time, you're in a lot of trouble.

Sometime I feel like LPT, or advice in general could be filed under "How to live in total fear of literally everything around you all the time forever".
