Reply to Breaking Bad or The Sopranos, and why? by RichAf26
For me it’s Breaking Bad, I love a good storyline and Breaking Bad is more plot focused than The Sopranos.
The Sopranos was more of a character study, and is probably the best tv show in that aspect.

Reply to Most anticipated shows for 2023 by cneogy
The new shows that I’m most excited for are The Last of Us and The Three-Body Problem. Ones that haven’t been confirmed for 2023 but are likely: Fallout, Avatar: The Last Airbender Live Action, One Piece Live Action.
As for returning shows: People in the comments saying Severance s2, I haven’t heard that confirmed but if it is, can’t wait for that. Yellowjackets s2 Mayor of Kingstown s2

>!I don’t believe there has been any dialogue saying the spaceship is another level to the sim. People speculate it’s another level because the final scene is the zoom in on the pyramid in Maura’s eye. But just before that, the last thing we see is Ciaran type: “welcome to reality” to Maura. So it’s either A) spaceship is reality or B) spaceship is level 2 of the sim. We don’t know yet.!< But either way, I don’t believe any of the story is random, Friese is a brilliant writer. But hey if you just don’t like the show that’s fine too

Why do you think there are no stakes? It’s revealed that >!the spaceship is on a survival mission.!<
“Just a bunch of random shit happening.” Are you sure about that? You think Friese wrote a pointless arc? You think it’s a coincidence the >!spaceship was also named the Prometheus? You don’t think maybe there’s some correlation between the simulation and reality?!<
There are a lot of questions to be answered, seems kinda weird to judge the show before you even know what’s actually going on, but hey, you do you

Comparing their season 1’s to each other, I’d say Dark is slightly better. However, I think 1899 has more potential than Dark did after 1 season.

I know a few of my other fav shows had some good episodes stretches but I can’t specifically recall which episodes right now.

Reply to Supernatural seasons 1-5 are extremely good television. by forman98
You are correct and there is a clear reason for all of what you said: Kripke only planned the series to be 5 seasons. This is why people call the season 5 finale the “original ending”. But with Supernatural being CW’s most successful show, CW wanted the show to continue. Kripke obliged but he also stepped down as showrunner, and other people took over running the show post season 5. So seasons 6-15 is basically just repetitive season arc’s of fan service, whereas seasons 1-5 had a serialized story that all tied together. The only good thing to come out of seasons 6-15 is >!the confirmation that Chuck is God!<, a lot of fans theorized it before, but if the show had ended after season 5 we never would’ve known for sure.
