There are at least 5 parking lots within a short walking distance from that marker. Plus a few neighborhoods.

If someone wants to go through that much effort they were probably going to break into something anyways.

About 10% of the time I pass that post it has something lost on it. A glove, mitten, hat, baby sock, toy, etc. Not the first time it has had keys.

IT guy checking in. We frequently get asked for a complex technology based solution to a problem that can be easily solved by manual efforts (often it's a management problem).

My guess is that digging a hole is a novel idea because people expect some hi-tech method. Ground penetrating radar, ancient ocean predators with lasers, computer modeling, etc.

Just carefully dig a hole and look with Mark 1 eyeball systems.

Confirming the New England houses I've lived in from the 40s, 80s and 90s all used forced hot water from a boiler with a 24v AC control system which includes the thermostat.

Two did also have electric baseboard that ran on 240v, but it was very separate from the 24v system.

Reading your updates, my first question is why do you think it is 120v and not 24v?

I have had forced hot water in three houses (built in the 40s, 80s & 90s) and all three used 24v for their original boiler (though the one from the 40s was converted from steam to hot water at some point using the same boiler).

If you have access to a multi-meter, that will give you a definitive answer, just make sure it is in AC mode (not DC).

I personally want him to run as an independent or for a party he creates to fracture the Republican vote.

If he gets the Republican nomination, I feel like he has a chance (which is scary in itself). But without that he will take his followers with him and away from the Republican candidate.
