Well of course in that case, he should resign

I think the key there is "credible" and who decides what's credible or not. It doesn't need to be a technical crime, but there needs to be a formal investigation to determine if allegations are credible or not.

You resign when an investigation by the appropriate authorities proves you guilty. No one should resign over allegations alone. That would be a ridiculous and dangerous standard.

But no matter what the parents do, he'll still be a young child in college and never experience it in the way that other college students do. College is such an important time to grow, make mistakes, and figure things out. He'll never get that.

Poor kid... It's impressive of course, but surely they could have found ways to nurture his intelligence while still giving him a normal childhood and college experience. What's he going to do when he graduates college? Get a real job at 13?

We also get emails in Allegheny county. One to say it was received and another to say it was counted.

They really need some more color categories. Not a great infographic

My mom just read this article to us this morning. Hopefully something happens to the parents. This was the middle of the night and it doesn't seem they were reported missing. The trooper found them before the parents noticed they weren't home... it's a miracle no one was injured.

That's not what the article is about at all. It's basically a list of the most culturally relevant/impactful people or things of the year. Spotted Lanternfly was also on the list for example.

Well I am just shocked. I am sure nothing like this has ever happened before. 🙄
(When I was young, my dad drank a lot with local cops in central PA. One of them crashed his cruiser on the way home. One of the drinking buddies owned a body shop. They fixed up the cruiser overnight, so the cop was never caught.)

It's not something I ever really noticed until I started pushing a stroller around. It really opened my eyes to how terrible the sidewalks are and inaccessibility in general.
Even the cutouts to get up on the sidewalk from the crosswalk---a lot of times the cutouts on either side of the street don't even line up and you have to do this weird maneuver around all the other people. It's insane. I know I only experience a fraction of the inconvenience you do though. I'm sorry you have to deal with it

The thing is that there are a LOT of people who will vote for the Republican candidate no matter who they are or what they stand for. This is the case with all republican family members in both my and my husband's family at least.
The level of fear my in-laws have of democrats in power is astonishing. During the last presidential election, they said they were genuinely afraid that if Biden were elected, they would no longer be allowed to attend church. They're Catholic. Biden is a life long, practicing Catholic. But they thought he and the American government, founded on religious freedom, were literally going to shut down churches. These are well-educated, upper middle class people. And they vote.

Reply to Does a 12 week old baby qualify as an excuse from jury duty? by CactusCandles
People have asked this on the parenting subs. General consensus is to bring the baby with you for your summons. Breastfeed right there in the courtroom. Do whatever you need to do to take care of your baby.
Also, answer some of the questions "wrong" in a believable way. Enough wrong to be thrown out as biased, but not enough that it looks like you're trying to be thrown out. Try either being a racist or being very anti-cop/government.
