Reply to Apartment cleanout/donations by That_Golf9029
Is it nice-ish stuff that you just don't want or have a need for, or is it junk that no one would want?
If the former, then an estate sale might be an option (or they might be able to point you to the someone who runs a thrift/antiques shop that can help with a clean out at no cost.) We do a lot of antiquing at estate sales, and not all of the "hosts" have houses full of swanky art and furniture. Especially if you don't care about getting any profits yourself, this may be an easy option, because you don't have to necessarily price stuff and organize it like at a yard sale. Sometimes you'll see a sale listed as a "diggers paradise", which basically means anything left in the house is fair game. A list of local estate sale companies can be found here: https://www.estatesales.net/companies/NJ/Northern-New-Jersey
If it's total junk that no one would want, then a paid clean out service is probably your best bet. You can look on Craigslist for "eviction clean outs" and find local people who do it, which is usually cheaper than 1-800-got-junk.

We found a whole stack of them. Apparently my predecessor stole them from the library. I'm pretty sure the photos have been in the basement at my job for at least 15 years.

I'm not 100% sure. We were trying to figure it out when we found the pic. I plan to walk over there tomorrow and look at it in the daylight.

Eleven80 in downtown Newark has a couple of one bedroom apartments below $2,200 right now. That's about an 8 minute walk from Newark Penn Station.

I'm in Gottheimer's district and he is such hot garbage. Wish I could vote for Malinowski or Kim.

Reply to What salary do I need to afford a 1,500 dollar apartment per month by JimmyCasket84
To qualify to rent an apartment you generally need a gross income of 3x the rent. $1,500 x 3 x 12 months give you an annual salary of $54k. Qualifying for it does not mean you can actually afford it though, depending entirely on you other debts and your spending habits.
