Went there yesterday for the first time and it was such a f zoo. So fricking crowded. The staff are all new, so 3/10 know where anything is.
It was like shopping in a Costco, but imagine Costco is physically smaller. So I waited in the check out line for over 15 minutes because people bought the whole store (people in front of checked out $500 worth of goods, and the other lines weren’t moving any faster).
I guess they have a rule that all the stations need baggers, so when my check out’s bagger needed to go grab a replacement item, the poor cashier kept getting yelled at by different management for not having a bagger.
It seems like a good shopping option, but go during less busy times or wait till the excitement dies down.

So I moved to Worcester about 10 years ago from the West Coast. Not the same as Texas, but hear me out on a few things:
If you’re BIPOC, be prepared for a lot of awkward interactions with white people here. They mean well. Edit: for context, due to the history of New England, I later learned that a lot of white people here simply grew up never interacting with people different from them ethnically.
I’m assuming you’re used to good food in Texas. Just know you can’t always trust Google reviews. People will rave about a place here, and the food can be super underwhelming especially when the food has been died down or stripped of authenticity to cater to the demographics here.
Also, get a good coat!

I get what you mean. Yeah it’s not a place to be rushed, it’s a place to savor and enjoy. :)

Also MCPHS isn’t that close to the worst parts of Worcester

I used it for the first few years, splitting the cost with friends as much as possible.
At the time, I think Zipcar was $9 Annual fee then something like $9/hr (it’s been a while I don’t fully remember).
A lot of places in the city were probably $18 round trip for Uber.
Up to this point, I had one job off campus and the rest were on campus. By my fourth year, I had picked up jobs outside of my school and a car was needed. I’m so glad to have the car, especially to go to places outside Worcester.

Also moved here from CA several years ago and getting a car here is WORTH IT. I did Uber and Zipcar and got rides from people. The latter was a nice way to bond with people, but Uber and Zipcar added up. I tried the bus system, but it drove me crazy how the bus drivers left before they were supposed to (they would arrive and leave before the scheduled bus stop).
