Person of Interest. The protagonists specifically, of course, but also some of their antagonists are pretty good at what they do.

And I think anything Star Trek usually is also full of people that are really good at their jobs.
And if you don't want to go to space, try The Last Ship.

You know, maybe it isn't a bad idea to do another rewatch... To get caught in Brit and Batmanglij tale again, be mesmerized once more. It might have been long enough.

I think the people that shit on it probably mostly moved on, and the people that still talk about are the ones that loved it.

I can get why it breaks stuff for some people. But I decided to go all in, cut my disbelief suspenders off and jump all in and never regretted it.

Well, maybe except the time when I learned it was cancelled. That sucked. But... It's better to have a cancelled OA than never have experienced the OA, or something like that.

I remember it, watched it a lot. I might have missed a few episodes, though. It had crossovers with Profiler, which otherwise wasn't that similar. Had also neat cast of antagonists, and a larger background plot. Though it did feel a bit like they were making it up as they went along.

Well, was it hollywood propaganda for torture, or was it a response to US agencies deliberately employing torture (pardon, enhanced interrogation techniques) against alleged "unlawful combatants"?

The move from: "Maybe in this particular case and situation we might be able to convince this particular guy to tell us what we need to do know with physical coercion" to "torture always works" over the seasons was certainly ... interesting.

I would argue that Star Wars is a vastly bigger franchise than Lord of the Rings (even if LotR has been around longer) or Star Trek (even if that is superior to both *kidding*). There isn't just a reddit about Star Wars, there are reddits about various Star Wars computer and board games, there is a reddit about prequel memes, there is a reddit that was started by people that were so disappointed by the sequels and the main Star Wars reddit that they created a sub for more critical (if not outright bashing) threads. A lot of people are interested. And a lot of people have been somewhat disappointed of the most recent offerings.

And there comes along a series that most people that watched it enjoyed, despite being clearly different from most Star Wars offering. A series that gets even disgruntled people back and enthusiastic again.

Is it really that surprising that it's such a frequent topic?
