It's because the turbo forces air in at a higher pressure. The extra pressure puts extra strain on various parts and seals.

Edit: Also it's more parts, so that means more parts that could fail.

I like this sometimes, but it depends on the other chores I have to do. If all the rest are small, it's nice to knock them out real quick first. Then you only have one last thing to worry about.

Like DK said, if the outlet itself is grounded you would be fine, but it may not be. You could, depending on your setup, run your own wire from the grounding screw part to a conductive metal rod outside that you hammer into the ground. Make sure you use a fairly thick gauge wire.
