I agree. Storylines are more complex (at least in the "middle" generations), but nothing beats the purity of Team Rocket as the OG villains.

"Tales of your misdeeds are told from Ireland to Cathay" - Crusader Kings 2, when someone who hates you sends you a letter.

Difficulty levels give a choice to the player. That is never bad.
Telling people how they have to have fun is totally nonsensical.

Reply to Ask Reddit: I want to discover Monkey Island games. Should I play the original one on scummVM or the special edition? by MJ_Tistus
I think the remaster was much better for Monkey Island 2 than for 1. So for MI 1 I'd go for the original look, but the remastered edition includes it too, you just need to press a button to change. I know some people have found out a way to play a "talkie" version of MI1 with the old graphics, you can check that out. I think it doesn't require much tinkering.
MI2 has a much more polished remastered. But the original pixel art is beautiful too, since you don't know it, get the remastered version and change between one and the other (again, the old one is included; MI2 does have voiceover in the old version).

Holy Fury for Crusader Kings 2. It was made as the final DLC for the game and it's basically everything fans wanted.
(Of course Blood & Wine for The Witcher 3 exists but I wanted to mention a lesser-known DLC).

Hearts of Stone has the best main story, Blood and Wine has the best additions overall.

Civilization 4. Just one more turn!
I've also played a lot of Age of Empires (especially 2) and Age of Mythology.
In recent years I started with Paradox games and I've played so much Crusader Kings 2.
IMO strategy games have the highest replayability. For non-strategy games, I've got 300+ hours on The Witcher 3.

This is true in social media. In real life most people are much less radical.
