I'm really sorry for everything you've gone through and are going through. Fire your therapist. This isn't the right person for you. They violated your consent and you're right to be angry.

You don't get fucked up over night and you sure as heck don't fix yourself overnight. Clearly your mother needs a lot of professional help.

Can't say I know fuck all about the UK's health system. I do fully understand consent and any therapist worth a piss should too. The fact they didn't ask you if you were okay or didn't try to shut down everything right away is crazy.

Forcing someone who was sexually assaulted to touch someone. Get the fuck out of here with that. Is the therapist trying to inflict more trauma?

It is a process and it takes time. There's no way I could even possibly understand how you feel or what it is like to have gone through everything you have gone through. What I can tell you is it will get better. Sometimes it just takes a long time and it feels like forever.

With time you'll get to have the existence you choose. You can choose to leave people out of your life that are toxic and harmful to you. You can dictate the terms of your relationships. Family doesn't entitle them to do whatever they please. You can in fact force healthy conditions on love, they're called boundaries and your mother needs to learn how to respect them.

Interesting, but I would have assumed these kinds of exercises were already common when a therapist is engaging in sessions with a narcissist?

From my experiences, whatever compassion I am shown by the person in my life, who I believe struggles with NPD, it is always self-serving. This tiny write up doesn't seem to address this aspect.

The core wound of the person I have to deal with seems to be related to feelings of self worth. At times when I took these interactions as genuine change it always came back to bite me.

Currently I'm experiencing a different side of this person's compassion. It's odd, I don't trust it. However I truly do hope they're on the path to fixing themselves. Everything I've read and been told by experts is that it is extremely difficult to get narcissists to change.

Pretty much the same here. This time of the year my girl only wants to be outside for a walk. She'll go do her business right away and run back in.

Hard to say how cold it will be this winter. She didn't object to me leaving her in her coat during the polar vortex. It was just too cold for me to chance anything. I didn't like her paws not being covered but she wouldn't go for boots.

Always have to obey lawful commands. Otherwise they have a lot more room to work with in terms of how they respond. Even if they're on legally shaky ground, you're still obligated to comply. Let your lawyers argue the semantics don't run.

Running is a green light to get your ass beat.

I was visiting someone the other day and noticed there were some small holes in the drywall. Far too small for their little kitten to fit in. But that didn't stop the cat from trying to make the holes larger.

Seems like they know that's a great place to be.

Context matters though. You defend your territorial integrity or you lose that space as a means of protection during the event you actually are attacked.

Korea would be in violation of international laws should they shoot down one of these planes. They can engage them and escort them out.

These days it does seem considerably more risky to fly through Russia and China's air defense zones. The Chinese are furious with America's navy for basically doing the same thing but in the ocean.

GPU is the most important thing to consider in a gaming rig, especially if you're trying to go for a value based option. The amount of quality mid range chips for CPUs is so abundant you really can't lose there. But a 10xx Nvidia is trash for most modern games. You're going to want to try and get a 30xx if you can since the 40xx are right around the corner. I'm not familiar with AMD's laptop GPU's.

I'd highly recommend considering a desktop. Your money goes so much farther. When your machine is getting a little long in the tooth you can swap out the GPU or add more ram to punch it up.

With a laptop it's such a pain in the ass to upgrade. I know there are these extremely pricey external setups, it's just that they don't seem supported longer than a generation or two.

If you really want to go with a laptop, I think Dell's value gaming rigs are going to be tough to beat. HP's build quality is suspect and I really don't get some of their design and engineering choices. But maybe that's just me.

Interesting interpretation. You might want to reread my comment. Most people do not know about Ford's antisemitic history. It's rather prolific based on the amount of material he published. Being from around here, I'd have figured more people would know this since we're taught so much about him in school.

Very interesting, I wish I could find some more energy to read books. My mind just wanders too much but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to one day read more.

It does make sense about him not liking Hitler as much as I stated since Ford was a nationalist. Racism and antisemitism can be complex. I did forget that Lucky Lindy was also antisemitic.

People are so odd and fascinating all at the same time. Hell, I have a hard time just keeping up with myself.

Not everyone was a fascist and the way the world works now is pretty different then it was back then. The "great" Henry Ford was an epic racist, and had published all kinds of antisemitic works. Both Henry Ford and Hitler were big fans of each other. In 1938 Hitler awarded Ford the Grand Cross, he was the only American to receive this honor, it was Germany's highest honor.

I've lived in metro-Detroit my whole life and this is something most people don't know about him. The ironic part is that Ford's manufacturing philosophies and actual industrial capabilities played a pivotal role in defeating both Nazis Germany and Imperial Japan.

War isn't a zero sum game of bad versus evil. Unfortunately good people get swept up into things that they can't avoid. Your Grandpa saved people's lives, it should be commended and honored.

It sounds like he was raised by great people too. Everyone knew the risks of hiding Jews and other people bound for the death camps, but they did the right thing anyways. Sounds like they were all good people doing the best they could under some of the most difficult times humanity has ever faced.

Very cool picture and stories!

From their (Russian) command, but absolutely not from the ships they overflew.

This is nothing new. They've been doing stuff like this since the beginning of the war. By design of course. They know the west can not risk being drawn into the conflict in Ukraine. Russia would be happy to have that happen because it would validate their claims the US and west are the true aggressors here.

Back in the day, when I worked at Comp USA we would troll the techs or set them up to troll customers. Someone coming in for more ram, we would tell them to head over to the tech desk and ask for BS ram.

I really miss those days. Absolutely awful corporate leadership but our store was a lot of fun.
