While I would love this, I can’t see how this won’t be a huge waste of money. I can’t see how they can get it to a low enough price point to make people use it and also how many people will be “regulars”.

As others have said you will have no trouble getting jobs in either of those fields here. Some schools might not post positions until the summer though? I’m not sure how it works. Cities will probably have more positions but it might be more challenging.

Academic, healthcare. You have your lawyers, accountants, bankers, etc. as well. Nothing as glamorous as Boston but your money goes way further

I hear you on this. My wife and I live in that area and do quite well for ourselves. Yeah there’s not a tech sector or pharma like eastern MA but there are good paying jobs if you want one.

I haven’t had any issues whatsoever in holyoke. Granted, I live in a more suburban area of the city though.

Reply to Western Mass Grocery stores by 11BMasshole
MB does not have a warehouse near Western MA so that would have to be step 1. I would love them to come out this way. They would clean house.

I would say western mass with that budget. Check out Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham, granby or south Hadley. All have very good schools and are suburbs of Springfield.

I work in Springfield. The colleges in Springfield don’t jump out like Worcester’s.

I’m a big believer in Springfield but it definitely has challenges facing it. I think the overlooked advantage that Worcester has over Springfield is the colleges in Worcester. It has a lot of colleges and some of those students stay there. Not sure that happens as much in Springfield. Other than healthcare, banking and some lawyer jobs, there’s not a ton for young people in Springfield.

As a central MA to western MA transplant the answer is Big Y. They are nice and clean stores and have good quality but nowhere near MB’s prices. Wish MB would come out this way.
