I love cold sweets at night. Chocolate from the fridge or ice cream are two of my major weaknesses. As others have said, processed sugar is dangerous stuff. Lately, I've been keeping lots of fruit in the fridge. Berries, oranges, apples, etc. When I get a craving for cold sweet stuff, I'll make a simple smoothie of plain yogurt, unpasteurized honey, and fruit or I'll cut up an orange or two. Quick, simple snacks that help fight the craving. I did this a few years ago and managed to entirely get rid of processed sugar for 3 months. It felt so good! I had so much energy every day, it was incredible.

You also need to watch out for sneaky sugar. Read the labels. Just about every processed food has sugar or fat added. If it says low fat, it probably has sugar added. Things like flavored yogurt which are advertised as "healthy" can have insane amounts of sugar. Concentrated fruit juices are another bad one. While one orange is healthy, drinking the equivalent of 4 of them in a big glass of concentrated orange juice is bad. Condiments like ketchup, some salad dressings, and BBQ sauce also have crazy amounts of sugar.

If you're reading food labels and you see that something contains 20g of sugar per serving and that's 30% of your daily recommended intake, just ignore that. The gov't guidelines are very skewed thanks to special interest groups lobbying the gov't.

As you get older, your risk of developing diabetes rises dramatically. Developing good eating habits when you're younger gives you some of the tools you need to live a long and healthy life.

Seriously though. We need "COFFEE GOOD" or "COFFEE BAD". This whole providing scientific data and expecting us to draw our own conclusions is so last century.

Yeah. Not sure why my comments were downvoted. Maybe ppl think I work for big honey or something.

Another comment mentioned citrus and sugar and referenced oranges and limes. I don't drink tea so I have no idea what ppl put in their tea.

Unpasteurized honey has lots of proven health benefits. You can Google scientific studies that show this.

As for lemon or other citrus in tea, I couldn't find anything other than websites that sell tea telling me that lemon tea is amazing for my health. I suspect lemon is simply used as a low-calorie flavor/sweetener.

Drinking hot liquids when you have a cold can help to temporarily clear congestion.

We live in an era where content is king (usually quantity over quality but that's a different conversation) and only those services constantly putting out new content have any value. The streaming game is about getting people to subscribe and not cancel once they've watched the show they wanted to watch. Disney needed more variety to their content offering in order to grab and hold more subs and 20th Century had a ton of it across pretty much every genre. The math isn't hard.

This. Definitely. Had a conversation a few years ago with a guy who developed some pretty cool automation tech for this application. Sold the company for a lot of money to a national grocery chain.

The benefits are huge. Less risk of crop damage from weather events, far less physical space required, no need for pesticides, no dependence on growing seasons, and the list goes on and on.

Your local grocery store could eventually have a bunch of sea cans outside operating vertical growing operations and delivering all the produce they sell. Never touched by human hands until you open the package.
