I’ve heard it said that the best doubles team in the history of tennis was John McEnroe and anybody else. After watching Martina’s career, I dunno. Seems like her doubles play was at that same level as McEnroe.

Her career for me was one of continuously-increasing respect from me. I mean, she kept beating my favorite players until I had to acknowledge just how great she was.
Plus, late in her career, a buddy and I were walking around Aspen and spotted her hitting with a partner on an outdoor court. Seeing her in person, crushing the ball over and over while clearly not even trying was something to watch. Eventually, the guy she was hitting with messed up and she immediately waved and said “hi” as if she had been waiting to be nice the first instant she could stop hitting.

To me, it’s about the load that Cam carried in Charlotte. Dude broke down from all those inside runs. While Lamar arguably takes fewer hits per game than Cam, I maintain that a QB who leads the team in rushing for more than a quarter here and there is a QB who will break down sooner rather than later. Lamar is probably aware of this, which is the most likely explanation for his contract demands: he knows there won’t be a third contract and he may not even survive his second contract, so guaranteed money is much more important.

Unlike his brother, David Carr was one tough SOB. David has never, ever seen an offensive lineman who wasn’t a part-time turnstile.

They will sign Lamar in ATL. Lamar will either get injured his first season or his play will fall off a cliff, à la Cam Newton.

So Google does understand the value of deleting data. Can I expect them to start deleting mine when they say they do? I’m not saying they don’t, but I have my doubts…
