I mean, if you REALLY want to get into semantics (especially the Greek ones), all genres falls into the category of “tragedy ” or “comedy”. Anything beyond that is based on a series of tropes that get associated with each other over time. I think it’s possible but I wouldn’t go looking for its name before I have its number.

Purple prose is completely subjective and changes based on time period. A lot of Victorian-era works are full of it because back then books would be censored and refused by their publishers more easily. A lot of publishers would add unnecessary passages to replace sections deemed too inappropriate for societal morals.

Summer Crossing by Truman Capote.
He wrote the whole novel, but then claimed to have destroyed it. It turns out that a houseguest had retrieved it from the trash and held on to the manuscript for about 50 years. It was then published in 2004.
Capote also was supposed to write a follow-up to In Cold Blood about the Houston Mass Murders in 1973 but was too sick to travel to begin researching. The sketches of what he planned to write are kept as “the Houston Diary 1973-1974”.
As a true crime fan, I cannot begin to imagine what Capote would have had to say about serial killer Dean Corll and his two accomplices. Definitely would have been one for the ages.

“Born to be Wild” is iconic but, “The Pusher” is underrated. Everything else is very meh. If you’re looking for a group similar with a better discography, MC5, Blue Cheer and Vanilla Fudge will do that.
Edit: I’m lost. Anybody know what direction r/LetsTalkMusic is in?

I don’t know about Aron’s work but judging by the 1996 release date, I’m assuming it wasn’t written with the most even-handed care when it came to stereotypes like this.

To be fair, Dennis played himself because he got egotistical. I have no doubt he would’ve been caught at a later date because of DNA, but him sending a floppy disk to the police after asking them if they couldn’t trace it is sheer stupidity on Rader’s part. That (unfortunately still living) jackass thinks he’s too smart for his own good.

I’ve been following this case for years. I’m glad that there’s closure, even if it is a half-century later.
What gets my goat is the circumstances. This was thought to be a Bundy murder for a very long time which made sense given his proven history. However this is almost weirder. It means a random guy viciously assaulted an innocent woman to death because he was mad at his wife and then continued to live his life like nothing happened and apparently committed no other significant crimes to anyone’s knowledge. That’s…fucked.

The first time I heard the album, I accidentally started on Side 2 so that it opened with Beat It. I’ve heard it the right way many times before but honesty Side 2 then Side 1 slaps more to me in terms of track flow.
