Reply to Do apple usually just give you a replacement if they break something and not even charge you? by EndlessZone123
I was a Genius for many years. If we broke something during a repair that couldn’t be fixed (like one of the side buttons) we would replace it, but usually for the price of whatever the initial repair was. So if it was a battery replacement, you would get the whole phone for battery cost. I’m in the U.S. though. Australia has some pretty serious consumer protection laws in place, so I wouldn’t doubt if they have to replace it at no charge by law.

I thought the biggest issue with scaling nuclear energy was that we don’t have a way to dispose of the waste. Genuinely curious, as it isn’t a topic I’ve dived in to all that much.

Reply to Confusion about signing into apple id with phone number if no other trusted devices? by easycheesy1989
Yes, if the new phone is activated with the trusted number (or the sim is swapped over) and you select the option to send a text, it automatically fills it in.

Reply to comment by __-____-_________-__ in Can we please normalise the fact putting your wet device in rice isn’t a smart idea? Rice isn’t a magical product. Instead put it in a dry area with sufficient airflow! by [deleted]
I used to work at Apple and opened a lot of wet devices that were put in rice. Rice has a bunch of dust that will get inside the phone and instead of drying it out it turns in to a gummy paste that often makes things worse.
