Man...Seriously?! Folks need to be TOLD to keep their house clean?

Then again, I'm sure there must be more than just a few people who would get to that part and say "No way! No one told me I would have to do anything like that before I bought this place. No wonder I keep having so many home invasions!"

Honest answer? Because there are literally no repercussions for the driver doing so. And they know it.

Seriously, what are you going to do? Report it? Yeah, right. And if you do, what do you think will actually happen as a result?

Best case scenario is that the person at the other end manages to keep a straight face while "taking your report." Yes sir, zjheyyy88, that's terrible! We'll get right on it. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If you had your Philadelphia tap water routinely tested by an accredited independent testing laboratory rather than blindly accepting the numbers that PWD brags about in their nice, colorful, glossy pamphlets, that taste would not surprise you at all.

Rather, you'd wonder why it DOESN'T taste like that all the time.

We (meaning the residents on our block) all had whole house treatment systems installed (at our not so insignificant expense) for this very reason.

Because, at the end of the day, you have to decide what to believe: YOUR taste buds and YOUR test results or THEIR ad campaigns and numbers.

When every night in Philly is mischief night, the one right before Halloween no longer holds any particular distinction.

And when the standard level of nightly "mischief" has reached the point of shootings, car jackings, muggings, rapes and retail thefts?

Toilet paper in the trees, egging a house, and shoving potatoes up tailpipes may even be considered a welcome respite to some.

Nerve? "Ask" for more money from taxpayers? Puh-leeze. You have no idea. Don't blame SEPTA. Place it squarely where it rests: On the TRANSPORT WORKERS UNION.

See, this is what happens when a union has you squarely by the balls. Toss them out on their ears for people who actually want to work (and work harder/better/faster in exchange for more money or a promotion)? Hell, dare to tell them no on anything? Out on the picket line they'll go until YOU learn YOUR lesson.

Rinse and repeat...year after year after year.

When will it change? When taxpayers finally get fed up enough to say, "Enough of this nonsense. We're mad as hell, and we're not going to take [TWU's] antics anymore! They've gotta go, and they've got to go. NOW."

But we haven't reached that point yet.
