NH requires you have financial ability to resolve an at fault accident, and insurance is the easiest way to do that.

It’s a misconception that nothing is required, NH just doesn’t require an insurance policy.

You are wrong, New Hampshire does require everyone to have financial ability to pay, and insurance is the most common way to do that

From nh.com nh.gov, “New Hampshire motor vehicle laws do not require you to carry auto insurance, but you must be able to demonstrate that you are able to provide sufficient funds to meet New Hampshire motor vehicle financial responsibility requirements in the event of an “at fault“ accident. If you are unable to meet these requirements, your driving privileges in New Hampshire may be suspended“
