It’s quite bizarre to see the Dominican Republic like this which is known for its tropical environment. Up at the peak, the weather gets as low as 32°F, which is much colder than the average 85°F that most of the island experiences year round. Well worth it!
On the 9th hour of hiking in wet and cold conditions towards Pico Duarte, the clouds began to dissipate, revealing the valleys below and allowing me to take this snapshot.
