See if your dad can talk to a social worker at the cancer center. They should be able to find him options for transportation. They’ll also have recommendations for other services that might be helpful. There are also support groups for cancer caregivers that could be helpful for you or other family members, if no one has mentioned those yet.

I am simply telling OP to look into this when buying a house. They could be coming from a very flat area and be unaware of buying houses on a hillside. I am not saying they shouldn’t necessarily but they need to research the property first. If they were looking at property in Millville or another lower area I would say to make sure they look into flooding issues. Sorry you took this as I told OP to never buy a house on a hillside.

The William Penn is fancy, but I wouldn’t call the rooms romantic. They are kind of geared towards older folks and business travelers in my opinion. Maybe do drinks in their lobby and stay elsewhere. I stayed at a Landing Hotel in upstate NY and it was nice, but I wouldn’t call it Valentine’s Day romantic by any means. I recommend looking into Hotel Monaco or the Renaissance. I feel like those might be more romantic.

During a normal visit I would see the oncologist and PA. I’m not sure if it was just the preference of my oncologist, that they want to see every patient every time. I am sure some patients demand to see the oncologist every time too. I believe it was NPs who would give chemo to the patients and they seemed pretty solo. There are kind of two sides to the 4th floor too. The treatment side and the “normal” office side.

Well you’re kind of in luck. I was a cancer patient there, specifically Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The facility is really nice and almost feels more like a spa than a cancer facility. The 4th floor has a rooftop putting green that patients can use while getting chemo. Lots of the staff seems to be the same. I think they are just open Monday - Friday and mostly daylight hours. I also worked for UPMC after chemo treatment, but not at Hillman. It was ok. Benefits were ok. It really depends on your department head if your office has a good vibe or not.

Have you looked up all the churches that have been repurposed in the Pittsburgh area? Church Brew Works, This is Red, The Dragon’s Den, Mary’s Vine and Matthew’s Lofts are all churches that have been transformed into business or living spaces. I highly doubt all of those buildings were sold in pristine condition without renovations.
